Sea Shanty Choir continues at Chats Palace in June and July
We’ve just returned from a fantastic weekend at Fire in the Mountain Festival. It really was amazing with glorious sunshine, sessions a plenty and classes in flat foot dancing, old time banjo and fiddle, singing, tunes for dancing, bones playing, step dance and Ukulele. There’s bound to be some great photos and videos so watch this space and we’ll share them with you.
We’ve also been working on a new website which should allow us to share even more resources for learning tunes, dances and songs. It’s not quite ready to go live yet, but it should be up soon and we’re hoping to fill it up with news about a big Autumn term full of courses. Expect workshops in Scottish Reeling, Bones Playing, Flat Foot Dancing, Old Time String Band Music, Mixed Instrument Tunes Classes and Shanty Singing.
Sea Shanty Choir
If you can’t quite wait until then and want to get singing, why not come along this Thursday to Chats Palace to join Pete Truin’s sea shanty choir? They blew everyone away with their performance in the bar at the end of last term and people were so keen to carry on we’ve decided to start another term straight away.
Classes will run for six weeks on Thursday evenings from 6th June to 18th July (no class on 4th July) at 7pm at Chats Palace, 42-44 Brooksby Walk, E9 6DF.
£6/session or £30 for the whole course. Please e-mail us to express interest or click here for more information.
The first session is this Thursday but Pete says people can join at any stage and you don’t have to be able to make all six sessions to be in the choir.
Until then keep on playing music, dancing and singing. Hope everyone’s having a wonderful summer!
